I just got off the phone with a very nice lady in recruiting named Linda. She gave me most of the information I was looking for.

One other question I would like to direct towards current Melton drivers is what are your main running lanes? How much time do you spend in the N.E.? I don't mind going up there occasionally, but anymore than that would be a problem for me. Linda said about 1-2% of loads go into NYC, but they get you in and out quickly. Would that be accurate?

Also, what would you guesstimate the percentage of loads that require a tarp?

    Thanks

75-80 require a tarp. Most of those need only one tarp. There is really no way of knowing how often you'll be in the northeast. I've gone there once this year (NH) and another driver has gone there 4 times in the last month.

1). The "Northeast" encompasses a lot more than just New York City.

2). 1% to 2% equates to 1 or 2 loads out of every 100 loads hauled. I'm guessing Linda 'mislead' you. If you take even one load into NYC, (as with just about every company) dispatch will assume you like it, and send you there as often as you let them.

3). "but they get you in and out quickly"? No such thing in that area....once again, not only has Linda mislead you...she obviously has never been there.

    Just food for thought.
