Depending on what the dirty card is? Have you checked your DAC? Co's are pretty picky right now on who and when they hire.

Melton is one of the best if not the best trucking co out there,
i never had a problem with them, and the trucks are always well maintained
and clean, money is always on time and reimbursement, your in good hands
but the orientation is hard, one thing to remember is the driving test sound silly but drive like your testing to get your cdl, check both mirrors every few seconds, both hands on the steering, watch your following distance, remember these and you will be good. oh and one more thing they will give you a backing test. get this, get out and look or you will fail, believe it.Baack Thanks this. -
Looking for an update on Melton, i'm going in for orientation this Monday. Which backing test do you mean, straight line or docking? And by get out and look, is that for docking? And is it a KW T660 they're using? what transmission is it? -
melton is a joke..top pay .38 cents..girlfriend works there so she gives me updates..most of the people that were there when i was there 7.5 years have all left and gone somewhere else..and this is drivers and people in the office..million milers are few not like when i was there there were 120 now its down to 35..that should tell you something..im going out west for a job at .46 pm with 35 tarp pay..if your a rookie melton will be good for about a year then miles will suck so if you dont like miles go to melton and be treated like a little baby in there safety department and logs..i talked to a melton driver a few months ago and he said he is quitting and he's been there 6 years and high and mighty BOB PETERSON was talking to TMC about possibly buying melton...melton is still a crap company but hey thats why they hire anybody these days its not like when i went with them in 2001 they were hard to get on back then but now they hire everybody just so they will have you out there in there truck sitting while paying you peanuts...

I just wanted to put this out there I'M no longer with melton
but you cant want for a better trucking company.
yes mile are low but you are in good hand with melton in every way,
I never had a problem with them.rookietrucker Thanks this. -
If I ever have to leave Maverick..I'm gonna try Melton.
I spoke to a recruiter there a few years ago (5 years ago I think), I was just asking questions out of curiousity and was quick to tell them I was happy where I was but I thought I'd inquire about Melton just to see what I was missing (if anything)...and they still send me a card in the mail every so often, and a birthday card.
And no...cards in the mail won't sell me on working for somebody...it was the way the recruiter spoke to me. After asking how much experience I had...she didn't even attempt to feed me the usual BS...that sold me. -
Melton hires anybody? Why am I not working with them?

I dont want to burst anyones bubbles but MELTON TRUCK LINES is a company that only cares for itself and will railroad you in a minute. I worked for them for nine months before i got canned and the only reason why that happened was because i had a confrontation with the DM. I always got to my pick up and destinations earlier than i should, called it in before i got there so they can schedule me ahead but that never worked, i always sat till the next day. Another trick is that they will send you a load at about 4pm to be picked up the following day right there in the area, that was done in order not to pay you layover pay. If you dont have a load by Thursday afternoon, you are sure to sit at a truck stop till monday. If you refuse a load that you know is not going to generate you a reasonable amount of money, you will definately sit for a couple of days and be on the black list. And if you leave on a bad note the will definately lie on your DAC REPORT. The only good thing i can say about them is that they have nice trucks.
PS: Be very carefull of Dave Decker, he is a hipocrit and a liar that will hurt you anyway he can. Hope this will give you a broad perspective of what MELTON TRUCKLINE is all about. -
That not what I heard about them. There's a driver that delivers aluminum to Great Dane Trailers in Wayne, Ne. He said that they are a good co. to drive for. I believe he was an o/o, I asked him if they take recent grads, he said no, nor do they hire from Nebr.
