Oh wow, cool! He was very nice guy, we chatted a bit at Alcoa and also at Ambridge, he was running a couple of hours behind me. He probably only unloaded this morning in CT. We were talking about Melton driver miles and how some here thought that they were giving more miles to those at the lower pay scale. I told him about this site and he didn't seem to know about, but was going to check it out...How do you know him? From Melton?

Talking about efed up loads, this morning I got a pre-plan to go PU at Nucor headed to Blasdell near Bufalo with one stop at Chaffee, NY. A 430mile load with one stop? Tell me that isn't an efed up load...lol Has anybody else ever had one like that? Now sitting at a Pilot somewhere on I-86 one hour and a half away from my first stop with an appointment 7:30 in the morning..

Nice one robot, but I would hate sitting all that time just counting flies...lol

Hey Floyd we went to cdl school together. We had an interesting guy (scary) in our truck so we kinda bonded getting out of school with our lives lol. When you are scheduled to go home they always seem to give you short loads to keep you in the area.
I spent four hrs unloading and four loading today. It sucks because I have to get to Iowa early enough to get a load for the weekend. I should make it by 1430. Parked for the night in southern Missouri. Living life dangerously parked between two Werner trucks. Hopefully if they hit me the truck needs to get towed. I'll finagle my way into a 680. Lol -
Picked at CASS in Oakland CA. Headed to post falls Idaho. This is the second time picking up there. The first time was also the first time Melton picked up there. Its a ugly place to pick up. Bails of compacted aluminium for recycling. No matter how much padding my tarps will still have holes when done. Ran out of hours while waiting to get loaded with 3 other drivers. And have to try to be at con by 1200 tomorrow

I've picked up at CASS before. I got finished aluminum ingots. And you're right. One ugly place! And they have you back out onto the road after they weigh you... fun stuff. I might be going there tomorrow for my weekend load. I'm in Sparks right now, fremont in the morning for del.

Picked this load up in cheyenne yesterday. Another melton truck showed up, then the tornado sirens started going off. Funnel cloud a couple miles away. Shipper made us go to their tornado shelter area and wait until the tornado warning was lifted. At least they let us both bring our dog. That lasted about 20 minutes, then back to business.
As for the "on board" message you had to send, it was pretty much pointless. It did put you in line for a load but no one is in Tulsa to give you a load and most likely no one at shipper to schedule a load. That's all done during the day. I send in my macros and turn my qualcomm up then go to sleep with no alarms set. My wake up call is "an important message has arrived." I like to sleep. -
Yep I figured as much. I didn't get Preplan til about 1pm today...I don't see why they don't just tell you ahead of time 'yep just go ahead and rest, might have you take a 34 and send you load info later'. Woke up early, only to wait. But I do the same too, turn up volume and lay back down haha. Once you hear that voice you know you're up.
Communication is one thing that I see lacking... If I could just be told what's up other than sitting with no idea, I'd be alright. But I can't let that get to me too much, maybe they don't know what's going on until it happens. -
Funny, he also had an interesting previous profession, a thoroughbred horseshoe maker was it?! yeah I'm due home time 4th of July weekend in eartern PA/west Jersey....getting ready for the end of my "efed up load"..have a fun day guys, that's how I do it, have fun, I try to have fun with everybody I talk to. Last night here at the Pilot, me and one of the employees almost broke the Ice cream freezer apart just for an ice cream sandwich...lol The freezer was almost empty with just a few different varieties here and there, but underneath the ice cream holders there was a full box of ice cream sandwiches and that's what I wanted. The problem was the freezer hadn't been defrosted for a while and we decided to do right then and there, he went to get a mallet a started pounding the accumulated ice and I was scraping with a screwdriver, after a few minutes we had a crowd around us wondering what the hell we were doing...lol It took a while, but I got my ice cream...
