hey army i just got to laredo about an hour ago.
picked up this morning got there at 7am and waited til about 11am because load was a bit oversized in width. hangs off one side of the trailer. so i had to wait for permits. its barely over by about 3 inches but i was told anything over is considered oversized. i got extra pay for it, too bad it was such a short load (360ish miles).
made it to laredo and had enough time to beat the permit curfews so i didnt have to sit out during rush hour traffic. i would have definitely not made it and my clock wouldve run out if i had to wait.
got to wait til tomorrow to see about dropping off, cons is 4 miles away. theres a bunch of trailers here loaded with AC units like last time i was here. im set for hometime next thursday. hoping to get one of those with enough miles to keep me going til sunday... so far i only have this load for next check...360 miles will not be enough

Unloaded, I hate this waiting and watching the drive time just dwindling down..also, when they send me to load, the loading, securement and tarping will probably leave with no driving time left...How do they expect us to get home??
-
hey floyd. my first time home they sent me a repower to arizona...i was literally picking up 40 miles from home and they had me drive 300 miles to repower. i was low hours. by the time i got home 2 days later i had 1 hour left when i parked for hometime. youll get there...might be run close but thats what happened to me. this second time i go home we will see if the same thing happens.

Thanks Robot...I hate waiting with nothing to do anyway...lol
I'm a runner, so if I only knew how long it was going to take, I could at least do some run training..

Hey, how does layover pay work?? Could someone please explain..thanks
-
Nothing for first day, 50 second day and 100 a day after that. I believe.

when i broke down, it was on a thursday morning. i didnt get truck back til tuesday morning. i got $175 for that. i think its nothing first 24 hours, then 25$ the next day, and 50$ each day after. at least thats what that 175 works out to. i also got a 'holiday' pay of 30$...cant really remember why on that check.
im going to colorado it looks like, im taking a break from tarping...its too #### hot. picked up around the corner from laredo office, will probably go back once im done and spend the night. 1050 miles to do til monday...will probably split it into two days then be off the other two. find somewhere nice to park around my cons but not too far from some fun. -
Either way, you'll rarely see layover pay.

Two thumbs up for driver of truck 9200. Correctly placard, good tarp job. After you unload and Melton wouldn't mind, what were you hauling?

Ok, so check out this scenario, the more I do this, the more I realize how much Melton rips you off on actual miles..I drove 90 miles from St Paul down to Albert Lea, MN to load my trailer with some Ice Rink parts going to LV, NV(1500 miles), this load will be taken over by someone that I will repower with a load going to Kreamer PA that will take me close to home. From here, Albert Lea to where I told them I would be leaving the truck for home time, is 1,160, about 100 further east than Kreamer. Also, the load delivers Monday morning which is one of my days off(don't know how that going to work, gota call him tomorrow). So actual miles would be 90 today, 1160 to go home plus 100 each way to deliver on Monday totaling 1450. Guess what my repower info email says?? 994!!! Something is really wrong with this picture..
Aren't miles to go home dispatched miles??
BTW, the load is only ready tomorrow morning and he also is to meet me here tomorrow morning at 9:30 so I bobtailed to a nice Petro here of I35/I90...
