Could be. My first DM was a perfect match. When he was offered a new position I was "drafted" and it took a little adjustment, but I'm fine with my current DM. They run me hard, don't micromanage me and they usually have a pretty good sense of humor. I also never give them a reason to doubt me. I am always on time or early, I communicate any issues and try to present alternatives/solutions for issues. If I screw up on a regular basis then things could be different. Being retired military, I tend to roll with the punches. I find if I just do my job, no one has a problem with what I am doing.

Sounds like things are going good for ya triletter, ya can't ask for anything more with a DM like that. I hear a lot of good things from almost all the Melton guys so the company must have things going in the right direction

Made it to my consignee for delivery in am. Address on the Bol was incorrect. That address took me to a residence on a county road. I guess the billing address. Turning around with a ditch on both sides of the road and very soft ground was a pain. The guy at the address took me to the job site where I sit for the evening.
I messaged very clear directions to after hours hopefully the other 4 Melton's receive the directions. Law of averages one will need a winch to get out of the ditch if they all go to the address on the Bol.
Settled for the night and should have the wind rock me to sleep. My tv antenna picks up 13 channels, fridge full of food and no idling trucks, not to bad in the truck driver world. -
I did a repower in N.C. to Buffalo. Guy left me a load that was secured completely un safe. So had to resecure it. Left me a trailer with ABS failure. He had the trailer indicator light unplugged. Once I plugged it back in. The light was shining. Told me he left beveled 4x4s under the load. And you guessed it no beveled 4x4. So no I will go to the shop to get trailer fixed and am short 6 beveled 4x4. Ppl like that suck. And as soon as he hooked up to my empty took off with out a word

I would be on the phone with safety and make sure his ### gets fired. What trailer is it you got? I had one with abs on and Melton told me to drop in Birmingham and they would have it fixed. Just curious if it's the same one.

So the replaced the ABS valve everything checked out drove about a mile and lights came back on. Now I'm back at the shop and the new valves not working g and the mechanic is puzzled

I told another Melton driver off today. Myself and a prime driver took our 10 @ the consignee. Another Melton driver shows up 5 mins before appt. consignee tells us where he wanted us and mr other Melton drives in front of us. Of course when I confronted him to his face he didn't say one word.
Deadheaded empty 640 paid miles from Grand Forks to the Iowa 80 truck stop. I actually drove 671 today and pulled the brakes with 1 min left on my 11. Don't like to cut it that close Minneapolis slowed me down. Time for midnight dinner. -
Its a shame. Today's drivers are all about themselves it seems. I remember when I was a kid and my dad was a driver there seem to be a real.brotherhood among truckers. Melton drivers are pretty good about helping each other but there are the bad apples in every bunch

Please tell me about orientation and the training. Secondly, are their any female flatbedders at Melton? I stumbled onto a TMC orientation video and part of that was to be able to jump on to the flatbed from the ground. When I first did this I used a 5 foot ladder and that was many years ago. I don't see me being able to jump up on a 60" deck, jumping off, yeah, jumping up.....not so much. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
