Its not safe to drop the trailer where we go plus at times I have about 50,000 lbs on the deck.. Sometimes we are in mud or in deep snow as our work is off road running looging roads lease road etc going to drill rigs.. It would be nice but...

Yeah understand that one...I watched a Roadway driver lose his trailer to the ice and into the ditch once...as he disconnected and pulled out...the slope in combination with the slippery ice/snow on the shoulder...that trailer just slid right down and out of sight. The biggest reason I don't like the 3 railers. Besides the fact that CA/OR don't require the MAX anymore, just modified max...single on all drive outside tires and the drag chains of course.

*sighs* I don't even wish to discuss trying to get someone, anyone, heck their freaking dog to teach me to put on chains. It makes me homicidal. Thus I have dug out information on this forum, watched videos and taught myself. God help us all if I suck at it.

    Thanks Oilpatch!

But being from Ohio, we don't use chains, except to hold our loads on to the trailer. I like it that way...lol

I have the general idea on how to do it, but since I only do it to my dads little tractor for snow plowing, I'd look like a monkey screwing a football doing it to a big truck...lol

Chains aren't that hard to put on if you take your time and set yourself up right. The best way to learn is on a nice day in a dry parking lot~not when its cold -n- snowing and parked on the side of the road. I would help ya and I promise not to laugh.:biggrin_25525:

One video I (and probably many others) don't need to see!:biggrin_25521:
