What do you mean by blowing out? Are the bearings seizing up?
-
they are breaking apart or seizing. most of the time we are able to reuse clutch and flywheel. pilot bearing is covered under extended warranty. if an automatic comes in with mbe 4000 and will not go into gear, first thing we check for is pilot bearings pieces laying in bellhousing

recall? ????

The MBE vibrates and I think (my opinion only) that this leads to the pilot bearing coming apart. And it a problem more on the autoshift 2 pedal truck. Or maybe a better way to say it is it shows up easier on a standard clutch style sooner.
On another note the MBE's seem to be harder on the rear motor mounts than other engines. That can be either the mount bolting to the flywheel housing or the rubber isolater in between the frame and engine mount. We are rehabbing some Columbias from a customer and most of those need the rubber isolater on the rear mount. Average mileage is 440 to 480.
