That's great. I jus hope my ex-wife aint reading this cause she thinks I'm broke -
Funny how he says they metioned an accident from his first solo run....driving experience 15 years ?????? I highly doubt this story .... And recruiters are people too... i would have laughed at you for that horrible record going down a mountain or not ... You need re-training .... Don't like what I say, don't post garbage on a public board .... I don't lease on at Mercer but everybody over there has been nothing but straight foward so I smell B.S.!!!!!!'
j3411, FLATBED, DEMO and 1 other person Thank this. -
I would think that if a recruiter even called him with an app like that, it would be to see if it was for real. Recruiter may have been mad because he thought he was being flamed with a BS application. And OP, "my first solo load" is no excuse. Thousands of drivers have completed their first solo run without doing something like that. And if you can't control you truck enough to keep it below 80 on any mountain, maybe you should go career hunting, not job hunting.
j3411 Thanks this. -
swoooooooosh!!!!!! (Sound of it "going over one's head")

I will check with Glenn or gary in mercers' recruting office and see if they know anything about this . I still think it is a truck stop story It just did not start with once upon a time or you aint gonna belive this but. Mercer is straight up they do not act like that.

Actually, I had almost the same exact thing happen to me, but my case was even worse. They didn't just call me. They called me, and asked if I could come to their office. They had a few points to go over with me. I asked what points needed going over, but he said I had to come in to talk.
I figured he needed me to sign some releases or something, so he could hire me.
When I got there, he takes me back into his office, and starts talking to me like I am a bad dog or something. After a few minutes, I asked him why he would call me, and tell me to come there, if he wasn't going to hire me. He told me since I had wasted his time, reading my application, he felt the need to return the favor.
Turns out he was all mad because I did not have HazMat on my CDL, but the ad in the paper didn't say it was needed. When I filled out the application, I asked if it was needed, but was told no. So for that I am made to drive 25 minutes up the road, wasting my time, and gas, just to have some jerk go off on me?
Things like this really do happen, so don't write off someone so easily as being a story teller, when you hear all this crazy stuff about recruiters. -
I will stick with what I said. Mercer does not act like that.
FLATBED Thanks this. -
I would say most likely you are correct.
But, even if the OP is truthful, I really doubt anyone would admit to it in the office. -
agree i dont think someone will admit in the office to waste company time like that .
but after read few of -insert name- replys looks like is a joke maybe.
