Maybe last years numbers sucked so bad they cutting back. Website contract agreement reports Mercer pays 75% of gross on all loads less 1% fee for ins. Maybe she left out more than meets the eye.
Mercer Transportation left hundreds of us drivers stranded.

I've seen that FLD somewhere before.... -
The FLD came from the Tri-Mac fleet in Houston before they switched over to the company's burgundy/white paint scheme.Les2 Thanks this. -
OK, What's the scoop on mercer for the 2011 dry van? tell me all. good.bad.ugly.cheap.expensive insurance. trailors EVERYTHING. I'm due at the orientation within a month. So, start A.S.A.P. .... Thank you.
-
I can tell you only what I see....
Van freight right now looks like it is paying better then flat & step. -
ok. how much of it do they have? - van freight -
If you could go on the super secret member only Mercer load board and viewed van and open trailer freight you will see about 1 van load for every 15 or 20 open trailer loads for the majority of the different searches you would put in.
Maybe the van loads just don't make it to the load board, I don't know.,
I thought about pulling a van for Mercer twice but then backed out for the same reason it just doesn't look lucrative enough for me, so I have a 53 ft wabash plate van air ride sitting in the back yard with my sailboat masts stored inside!
Louisville tells me "yeah the van freight is growing right now". The agents tell me "you are no better off with a van than you are with an open trailer"
I don't want to discourage you but if your in the trucking business, you're only going to scratch out an existence no matter what's is hooked to the fifth wheel. I'm not an expert but I do own a flat a van and a reefer for my one tractor. The experts claim that open trailer freight will and is rebounding back the fastest with the higher earning than the box trailer
It doesn't matter much what you claim to get per mile, it's what is left after the load is delivered and the expenses are paid. -
open trailer - you mean flatbed?
-
now if you had a curtain side would it be better?--could you maybe scam a bit of van with it?
you shoould do go with it i am thinking--as long as you dont mind not doing od work
i could be way wrong here , but its just a thought
