Anybody have any idea when using our NEW logbooks will become mandatory? I only got by Louisvlle once in the past nine months (DEC) and loaded up on logs and other paperwork. Don't want to make another trip by there to replace the dozen logbooks I just picked up.

 

Mercer pays a certain amount to get a load moved then the o/o takes his percentage to move it. If the rate sucks and there's no wiggle upwards the o/o can choose to roll or not. That o/o sets the going rate by his choice. Rand McNally, hhmg etc are the folly of cheap freight rollers.

 

I haven't done my math for the year end average. However, if being completely honest with your self, I wonder if most ppl avg more
Than $1.7 - loaded and empty. - no corner cutting - whole year.

 

New logbooks? First time I hear about the "new." what's wrong with the current?

 

I always figure empty miles into the loads I accept. Last quarter I averaged $1.68 on all miles. 15%deadhead Really not all that jazzed about it either. Conservatively expecting to up that by 15 cents this quarter. The goal is $2 all miles, which imo with prices how they are, is the minimum I think o/o should make. It's very difficult in dry van freight though.
