I pull military loads all the time & I have never been told no dogs. Passengers yes that happens. But never been denied access because of because of a dog. Then again, it might just be the certain bases I have loaded/unloaded at.
The whole service dog thing has been bastardized like so many other things in this country. I cast no aspersions, I speak of my experience as a landlord of 28 properties with my wife, the new thing is to go to a quack doctor and say you are nervous, anxious, depressed and then forward that with the application to your state govt for a service dog tag. This then allows people to rent our properties (we don't allow pets) because they fall to the ada. Also, they take them to stores, planes, restaurants and can present a "service" tag. Kinda like the fat people that ride the karts around stores now too. Lol
Well there are those who just because they have a bad day one day they feel they need a service dog. However, some of us actually have issues that are helped by a service companion.
Right up there with handicap parking stickers. If you need a handicap sticker in your truck, you have no business driving an 80k pounds unit down the road.
And if a dog helps with your issue then who am I to object. My point was through personal experience that in the last several years that has become a fad and an easy get, taken advantage of by not the most honorable of people.
My politically incorrect view on the subject is that any one not of sound mind and body should not be driving an 80k pound potential weapon of mass destruction.
Only thing I don't like about the I 5 corridor in the winter is Weed, CA. I have seen them throw the chain law for slush.
