As easy as putting a toggle switch in the dash and running two wires back to the end of the cab, then put in an extra pig tailto plug to the trailer. Replace that factory great dane plug with a regular one. The top prong is female so you would have to buy the cord from great dane. Start to finish, probably two hours. Unless you have a truck with a spare toggle switch, then it's super easy. Edit to add: hook that dump valve up asap. I've seen axle hangers get ripped off by guys trying to swing a spread axle around in a tight spot.
If a shipper did not put item's on my truck is that my fault? I guess the shipper didn't put 4 boxes on...
Man I respect the "keeping the baby safe" but if I'm sick? I want nothing but to be babied in my bed. Man, you signed for whatever is on the bills. If the bills say 10 crates and you bring 6?????? Now if everything on the bills was on your trailer, that's between the shipper and recievers.
@TruckerPete1990 count count and count some more. If the receiver notes it on the bills, then it goes thru the process. More than likely the shipper has found it on the floor and just waiting for the receiver to call them. On a complicated set of bills when you sign always write "shipper load and count"
It was a load inside place with small boxes of screws and plates that was left off. cust said its not the first time.
When you put the toggle switch in do yourself a favor and put a bright indicator light next to the switch. More than one driver has gotten an overweight ticket because he forgot turn the dump off. not to mention it's really hard on equipment.
I got a big flashing red light but still forget. The good thing is it will only get you a ticket if you get plat formed. , you won't burn up an axle cause(atleast according to great dane) it's wired through the abs system. the valve switch is ignored above 5 mph.
I've been lazy and haven't wired mine up... am I understanding right? At 5 mph, the axle drops back down automatically? So it really is only good for backing in, doesn't help when d/h?
I've been running the oil fields for the last year and a half. Things are getting real tough and I need to make a change. I've already started the process with Mercer. I'd like to get a feel for how thing are going out there. Are you guys still running good freight and staying busy? I know we're going into the slow part of the year. I guess I'm just trying to make sure I'm going in the right direction. Thanks in advance for you response.
