a lot of you guys who still prefer the old dumb phones. better get used to the idea of having a smartphone. nokia quit making the operating system for them phones 2 years ago. and the only ones you see for sale anymore are probably refurbished and being sold on one of them pay as you go plans at walmart. in other words. them dumb phones are a thing of the past. and once they're gone. that's it. smart phones are the future and that's what the carriers sells these days. no more dumb phones.
Volvo, we have a computer based load board, so every driver either has a laptop and wifi card or a smartphone already to look at the loadboard, we also do our scanning incab, I also myself can scan fax and copy and print right here in the cab. this aint no fred flinstone dinosaur outfit here. and with my 15 gig data allowance already 3 to 5 mb is a pittance, chump change actually .
There's no way my Galaxy SII can run bluetooth and wifi at the same time and still keep the batteries charged. My phone will discharge faster then it will charge. It might have 4 hours of battery life at the most. But I may have several years to upgrade
They said nothing about having to use WiFi. Just connects through Bluetooth. Do you use WiFi for GPS traffic in real time?
Guess you haven't been in a Verizon store then, huh? Because they still sell "dumb phones", and you want to know why? Because there is still a market for them, although it is limited, not everyone wants or needs a smart phone.
Ugh, it's gonna be a pain in the butt to wire in another ecm plug. No way am I giving up my scangauge
