Well Roshea I have to disagree with you. Rates I see like chicago to louisville are only running 1.70 ish. Chicago to NC in the 1.8 range unless your talking 6 picks or 6 drops. apparently you have better contacts than I do.
Last year I was loading out of the house for $2.23 or better going west, when was looking for a load Monday everything was $1.64-$1.80 going west
before you going and changing the generator head, check the capacitor , it will be round , about 1 2/2 to to 2 inch in diameter and about 4 to 5 inches long, the generators on these use a capacitor. many guys think, and shops rip em off for a gen head when its a 25 to 50 dollar capacitor, I got an extra in the side box. you can find at a/c supply houses. just match it up to the specs printed on the side of the old one.
Hopefully I'll be back on the road Friday I'm getting new wheel bearings put on over here in Ft Worth
Well the fact is I had a agent change the the load I had accepted on to another shipper without my permission and I will never do business with that agent again. Sorry Skateboardman, I feel that some agents are pulling some crap I do not like.
I have no interest in running out west, if I come back it will be on the Mid America fleet with a flatbed.
2 Weeks ago i booked a load with LNV outta charlotte granted it was 5:30pm i was amazed the phone got answered but it was a good load $3.03 a mile 5,000lb deadhead 230mi to get it. they Dispatched me on it and i headed over to the customer I parked there that night. At 8am when they opened up LNV called said that they were sorry the load was already covered by the shipper they and i got nothing for my troubles because they didn't confirm with the customer that it was a good load because of after hours... but it wasn't all bad about a hour later i picked up a $11.00 a mile load took 3hr to do and made what the other load was paying so i wasn't so upset about the whole ordeal.
You got lucky on that load, I did not on mine. I guess I dont have the contacts you do. I'm not mad I'm just sayin.
then you just come off the load, and move to the next one, but that's a whole dfferent ball of wax compared to the rate changing. what happened in this case, did it pay the same and just picked up at a different shipper. I guess being an old rear end, I have benn screwed , blued and tattooed so many different ways , that I don't dwell on it much. I simply come off the load and move to the next one. like today, I got on 4 pallets of roofing that paid truckload rate from boston to wash, dc. I called the contact and asked directions to the school where the jobsite is, he says he has no idea how to get there , that some roads are restricted, and he thought I would know how to get there. I said , nope , I liv in ga and I visited dc when my daughter was stationed at the pentagon. when you figure out how to get me there I will be at the truckstop in Jessup, md call me. I pretty much know I can take Georgia av down to the street , hang a right, park in front of the school, and hang a right on 16th st nw and run back to 495, but he nor the agent know that , but I got both of em working on directions. and I have a couple I wont haul for, but one of em is gone, my all time favorite "conniving ivan" ,
