So , you got more than one truck? Yeah you do
-
Well I'm smart enough to grow when I have good steady work. I like money. But guess where I started with my direct customers. Just Me! I poured a ton of work into them giving them the best service I could, never saying no being the yes man. They begged me to get more trucks. But I have 7 trucks and 10 trailers now.
Example one, major steel company I pull out of I know of 4 one truck shows running out of there. Two run local loads for them everyday. The other two run plant transfers down to Texas and bring back transfers or back hauls.
Example two, building supply company I pull for has 2 one truck shows. One does Midwest loads out and back. The other does local runs. They had another one truck show but he retired and gave his company to his sons so now the two of them run out of there.
Example three, steel company they had another one truck show pulling out for them when I was a one truck show, but I'm not sure what happened to him.
I was a one truck show for almost three years before I grew a set and ventured into the deep water of multiple trucks.
What else you got????Lepton1 Thanks this. -
Wow, I am impressed. Did that long ago. Doesn't change the fact direct customers don't grow on trees. And I think we are actually talking two different things. It not a real task to get an occasional load from a direct shipper , but another to servicevthe entire place with on truck. But for perspective , I did what described. 26 years ago.

Actually direct customers are everywhere. Who said you have to service all their needs. One of my major accounts has multiple one truck show operators pulling everyday or every other day and guess who gets the scraps your beloved Mercer. They use the guys that they know show up and get the job done. Mercer has a bad habit of trucks not showing up. That is how I got my foot in the door there by rescuing your abandoned freight.
I love your "wow, I am Impressed" comment. You are the one belly aching about not being able to secure or provide service to direct shippers as a one truck show. I just pointed out you were wrong. Then you got butt hurt. So now you are changing your argument to one truck shows can't service entire place...ok
You have yourself convinced, but I see the real world everyday and it consist of single truck operations providing service to the same customers I and mercer provides service too.
But I'm glad I could impress you. So July 5 I will call up mercer and lease my truck on so I can finally achieve my full potential. Once I'm in the ultimate trucking mecca of mercer I will truly impress you. Instead of your sarcastic snarky comment. Oh wait I don't care to impress you. You did manage to drag me into your forum drama. So you got me there.snowman_w900 Thanks this. -
Lol, you are quite a touchy fellow. There are a few holes in your rant. It is good you are doing well with honey bun trucking. Snarky, that's funny. Real world???? That's a good one.

And don't forget who hijacked the thread to begin with
-
lol...... Few holes sure ok....
-
What's your point lmfao

Wow someone is finally happy out here I'm glad things are working out for you making a decision on who to lease with is worse than getting four wisdom teeth that are impacted removed
