Here is a question: What sorts of stuff does "mercer" haul? are they random? are these customers actually ARE the mercer's customers?

I'm in York, NE right now.... Heading to a little down in Missery.
We haul anything that needs to be hauled! -
Watch out for Kathy Bates!

I remember passing through York. I'm down in FT Collins now at delivery. Can't unload til Monday but motel 6 within walking distance. Will try to get work done on truck this weekend while weather is beautiful.

My clutch fan is gone... So I'm pushing into KC for the Volvo shop... They are open tomorrow & have 31 clutch fans in stock.... Perhaps one of them will work?
That's right. I met you & others down there while I was on that Air Force run. I think outerspacehillbilly has in Florida that week also....
Are you ready to come back to work? Or are you still enjoying playing Hank Hill? I miss my telephone buddy!outerspacehillbilly Thanks this. -
Clutch fan? what is does - why is there in the first place? how do you know it is gone? how hard/what is involved in changing it?
-
It activates & deactivates the cooling fan to prevent overheating. right now I'm running without an issue... But I'm in cold temperatures heading to warm temps. I over heated once yesterday pulling a mountain grade cause the fan would not engage.
If it was working, the fan would be locked into place while the truck is shut off. Mine spins freely & the fan will not engage when needed.
How hard is it to change? What is involved? $610.00 plus tax for the fan clutch & 3.5 hours of shop labor at $110.00 an hour. -
oooooooo the fan by the radiator - go ya, I was thinking an actual fan in the tranny by the clutch - that raised the red flag - why is there a fan to cool the clutch?
-
There isn't.
-
if it's the cooling fan clutch it may be worth while doing it your self - if you're up to it- he he he. I mean hey: it's $110 bucks an hour, even if it'll take 5 hours you might be better off. May be.
