They way i was told was it didn't matter what time you got empty, the only thing that mattered was when you called in. If you got empty at 8 am and didn't call in empty till 11 then 11 was when you went on the board. But it really didn't matter on the van side, I would get empty early in the morning and have 4 or 5 other van drivers at the same place still loaded and they would all have pre-plans and I was told oh we'll call when we get something. So much for first in first out. That's one of the biggest reasons i left. I was gonna switch to flatbed but after I thought about it I figured if it was that bad on the van side with only 175 trucks it would be 10 times worse on the flatbed side with 2000.

 

stuck two weeks in calofornia.....WARNING MERCER DRIVERS.......just can't wait to get home an send them their overpriced tag back

 

Don't lease on to MERCER.........they run on the good ole boy system............6 months they have good freight but six months they have little............thats when they revert back to the good ole boy system....BEWARE.....unless your conncted

 

totem, are you running the west coast regional loads or just sitting for a east coast load? after, carefully studying the load board i have decided going to california ight now isnt the correct load to take unless you are prepared to sit a while. i am staying in the chicago to mississippi to sc and up to maryland ,pa and across to chicago area and the tires dont get a chance to cool off.

and as far as getting grilled, i thought we were supposed to call in when we arrived at delivery destination and then when empty, i do everytime. so i am still uncooked and havent been grilled yet, lol.

 

Well when you spend almost a year just giving your empty call and nothing else then things change kinda makes you wonder no? More so when you ask in the begining if you should call when you arrive and your told nah just let me know when your empty..

 

I could be wrong but, I'd might ask for the different cordinator, if it was me.

 

I am on my 4th or 5th one in less then a year.. Either the get promoted, fired or quit.. All I know is that is getting old... You have to gain some trust in them and you can't with that kinda turnover. Hell I had a fill in this week try to push a houston load on me saying that houston frieght is really picking up.. I declined and a hour or so later did a 200 mile search around houston and found 5 loads.. 3 going to worse places then houston..

 

don't say that I just took a Houston load yesterday.....

 

Don't lease to mercer.....unless your conected..there first in first out policy is a joke............alot of politics here at mercer

 

I was asked by " louisville to do them a favor and take a load to cali" sat two weeks.....missed my families spring break.....wifes mad....kids mad.........mercer is a bunch of polite,,,bald face liars....the good ole boys would roll into cali and roll right back out
