Verizon data plan on the smartphones has unlimited usage, as I've posted it previously.

Ok, thanks, I guess I misunderstood verizon as they wereexplaining that it's "Called" unlimited but any new service will me unlimited up to 5g..... after that they charge. Personally, I wouldn't know a gigga bite if I got run down by a truck load.:biggrin_2559: Btw I like the post about the I phone too.

It's not unlimited it's just called that. It is capped at 5 gigabyte. For your scanning purposes you would not even use enough to affect your plan if you only got 1 gigabyte per month. Put it this way, to use 5 gigabyte you would have to download a lot of stuff. Here is something you can look at that might help.

Unlimited: no limit, infinit, .... I use between 10-20gb a month for as long as iPhone was available through the carrier. If you read the contract.....

Well I had verizon for 10 years and they had a cap of 5 GB. Maybe they have changed that now but it was 5 gb.

On a side note if you use 10-20 Gigs a month you need to do some work because you sure as hell ain't doing any if your using that much! :biggrin_25523:

Lol. You'll be surprised how much bandwidth it takes to watch one HD movie. - specially if it is a long movie. My wife and I sometimes watch a couple. When I get home, all of my mac's are updating at couple of hundred of mb's per Mac . ....

i have got a unlimited internet card from verizon. it is truly unlimited and it is not tied to a phone either. i pay 59.00 a month for it, i have had it since late 2005. that was the original deal. they keep trying to get me to upgrade it thru them so they do the 5 gig limit on me. i have bought cards off e-bay and went online and activated them myself. i figure one day they are just going to cut me off and be done with me, lol

While yes they currently do have unlimited data for smartphones (the 5 gb limit is for their mobile hotspot and such dumb devices) rumoe has it they are doing away with it. I'm sure they will keep you unlimited untill the contract end, but as soon as that is up expect unlimited to go away.

mag, after some checking (with my sons girlfriend who works with verizon) it seems as if the unlimited in some cases can be capped at 5 gigs. they may not do it but reserve the right or something like that/.
