From the article,
Greenville, IL? Is this a mistake, or is there another Mercer Transportation?
Not that it makes the accident any less tragic. May he rest in peace.
This load I got on my deck, it's about 16-foot long and 6,600 lbs, came from Bell, CA going to Greensboro, NC. It was listed as a truck load ($1.65 and 8' drop - it's sad this was the best coming out of Commiefornia).
It would have been a great LTL load if the customer wasn't in hurry.

As the shadow said. Our cab cards show Greenville, IL as Mercer's address.
Where you at now? I got $1.60 out of Pendleton. I'm about 13,000 pounds though. -
Concidering 06 t-600, 450 cummins, 13 speed. Cfi trade in. I thought that since ya'll know what you haul and the location you run in, does this seem to be on the right track.
-
I know that Katz is running a T-600 (an old Melton truck) but I believe his has a Cat engine.
The Cummins engines are known for good fuel mileage. With a 13 speed transmission it should pull decent. If you buy it, buy that Bully Dog thing & give it a good tune. Turn the HP up on it.
What is the torque range? -
Will ask in the morning. I will be at Dallas dealer at 08:00 . I am putting a list of questions together to ask them. One is similar to what I asked my Dr...... "are you sure that only a finger"?

This just shows how much attention I pay...
Already in Greensboro. I was in Cookeville, TN last night. I think I'll be stuck here for the weekend. I'm thinking it's time to get a new coordinator.
Axle ratio? WB?
I think Lil Blue Pony and her hubby used to drive a former CFI T600 before they got W900. She hasn't posted here in a while.
As long as the truck is in good shape, it should get the job done just fine. But a little extra hp lowers your stress level when you drive in hilly areas. -
336 on rears. 225" wb. Asking 37k. They are supposed to be super clean. I am more concerned with the engine and trans. I go to blue beacon.

Reightnoer trailer here in houston . Asking 20 k. Its an 06. Steel wheels. New caps. Coil pkg. No tool box. Has that even air system on the wheels.
-
I have the same axle ratio. My tach reads 1420-ish at 68-ish with low profile 22.5s, which is slightly above Acert's sweet spot. I don't know where the sweet spot for ISX is.
I have to use the low gear when I take off on incline (eg, stop sign at the top of an steep off-ramp, etc) when I'm close to 80k pounds.
Mine has 236" WB and 72" sleeper. I've done 2-foot front overhang full width of the trailer with some room to spare. I think you'll be OK as long as you stick to a slim headache rack.
Not that you'll come across loads with overhang that often, but it's nice to have the capability when an opportunity presents.

I hauled this giant pressure cooker from Madera, CA to Geneva, IN. 2-foot front and 4-foot rear ovehang. Needed OD banners and permits in Indiana and Missouri, but legal size in the rest of states I drove through. Paid $4700, and that was last June.
Which model?
Second-hand information I collected when I was trailer shopping last summer suggested to stay away from a Max-lite if you intend to haul heavy. Again, that's a second-hand info and I cannot confirm.
