It did take awhile to figure out what all the switches went to. That thing had enough lights on it I could almost see going down the road at midnight with the headlights off.The one I was always checking was the the one that dropped my air on axle 5. I was always paranoid I would roll across the scale on 4 axles.

both can be a hassel sometimes..Thats what I remembered but i figure a dog in the front gets less knocks on the door. I like my sleep
-
I chased a knock on the door around the J one time

really I have though of calling the truck stop and saying something but then again i just rolled over.

I'll explain.
I thought the same thing as you... I spent all these years out here by myself. This past November I picked up a friend in Louisiana & took him out to LA with me. He always asked me about driving... Stupid questions here & there... So I figured since he was out of work & not looking for work, I'd give him a real taste of trucking! Something that most don't get to experience.
Anyhow, halfway thru AZ I got to thinking "Why did I bring this fool with me?" To late, He was stuck with me for a week. I nearly ditched him in Long Beach only because he is really an idiot & was getting on my nerves!
Now your wondering.... "What does this have to do with a dog?"
OK, on the return trip back to the east coast, I got to thinking! "How can I prevent me from thinking it is a good idea to have friends ride with?" My solution was to get a dog to occupy the seat... In my head, that would work!
So over Thanksgiving I went to the Humane Society & adopted a dog! Tossed him up in the truck & away we went! It was more work then what I anticipated! Dog hair everywhere that had to be cleaned up... Feeding & watering him... Stopping every couple hours to do his thing... ####, I don't even stop every couple hours to do my thing then chasing him for about an hour just to get him back up in the truck. I have issues with feeding & watering myself... Not counting my own mess & smell I make in the truck... Then there is the fact that I'm fat & lazy... I didn't do good at chasing!
A couple days before Christmas I stopped in Wisconsin to let him out to do his thing... He managed to slip away from the loose hold I had on the leash & off to running he went! Man, I called & called.... He wouldn't return & I had a load to go pick up!
I don't have a dog in the truck today! I won't put another one in my truck ever! Plus there are shippers/consignee's that won;t allow you on the property in you have a animal... Don't matter if you have to load or unload.... You gotta find a place to hide that mutt!
