You can be accepted on a load without a problem. But it truly isn't yours unless your dispatched on it.
I've noticed that most loads like you described are CBD loads. If it was a CBD load, they'll accept you then call the shipper to see if the load is still available. If you didn't get the load, then 90% of the time the load was given to a different carrier!

to my Mercer friends. I have come across some information and I want to clear things up.
1)I had NO clue REDD was coming back here. It was a coincidence. We hadn't talked for a few days.
2) I AM a truck owner. I AM a contractor with Mercer Transportation.
3) I have been a truck owner for 28 years and have had my own authority as well.
4) AT 19 I obtained a chauff lisc. that qualified me to drive commercially. In 1990-1 I obtained my CDL from the state of MO. I have the original copy.
5) I was totally unaware that qualification for this forum was a CDL needed.
6) I CAN drive my 2005 T-600 I don't and why I don't is nobody business and should not be of any concern to anybody else.
7) AND REDD as well as the other Mercers knows I am married and it should not be anybody else's business here.
At Mercer we are family. We hang out together. We do things together and we call each other. We spend time together at the yard and at other places. I walk in the door and I am getting hugged....ASK REDD I met him down at Mercer one weekend. We have a saying at the yard about the good times we have there but since it might be mis-construed by other readers of this forum I will refrain from posting it but REDD and I are co-workers and YES I throw tarps straps and chains. I know my job and do it well and I do not appreciate people butting into my business. If I am not welcome on this forum then ADMIN had better let me know. And further more my reasons for being gone are nobody's business as well. If I had wanted some of you to know you would have been told. I posted this on the Mercer thread becase we undertand each other. I have never known another company like this where you are family. So if anybody else has issues with me come to me not other Mercers. -
Didn't realize you were gone but #### glad you're back. Who is flicking #### at you anyway? All that matter know you're a driver and great member. One of these days I'll meet you and will hold you to bear hug standard.
Lil Blue Pony Thanks this. -
Yup! It sure is good to have you back, Ms. Pony. And Redd too.
Regarding CDL being a requirement for this forum, I think someone told you a BS unless those students, 4-wheelers, trucking industry-people posting here are some truckers pretending to be someone else. -
Dr. Katz... Your phone is ringing!
-
You're right. No need to be a driver. Just abide by the rules and enjoy,Katz Thanks this.

Your phone service carrier has a lousy signal

I'm gonna eat and go to bed. Be safe, bud. -
Good ol' AT&T! I honestly think it's my phone! I may entertain the idea of buying a new one... Someday!
Let's not get carried away now! -
