Guys, I hope you guys can help me with this question. My freightliner 2005 Columbia has an auto/manual trans. Few days ago I noticed that when I start it, , "SM" code appears. I put it in Drive but it will not switch gears in auto position. The rpm goes up but the gears doesn't switch, so I have to put it in manual. In manual it switch gears but the "SM" code still there. The "SM" code disappear after I drive for about 30 -40 miles, then I can put it in auto or in manual and it will drive just fine. I'll appreciate your input on this matter.
Thank you for your time.
