He got a new truck a month or two ago and is getting 10+ mpg, of course limited to 63 mph and no idling. And we totally support fuel efficiency, although NOT on the back of the driver.

MVT is the king of being able to cut costs (see the OR lawsuit over tax credits and the TN lawsuit, I think over workers comp). I recently saw their promo video at http://m-v-t.com/ and it almost made me puke.

It's his last day today. Yesterday he told his fleet manager BB that the Greyhound bus leaves in Phoenix at 11:15 am this morning. Yesterday they kept him in LA and then sent him to pick up a load in San Diego to Phoenix. Of course he had a delay getting loaded, didn't even make it out of San Diego and he got up at 2 am to make it to Phoenix on time.

I don't know WHY I trusted MVT to get the Greyhound ticket, I should have bought it online yesterday. They got him a ticket leaving at 11:15 pm and arriving in Kingman at 3:40 am.

I had my day planned with all sorts of errands in Kingman, then picking him up at 4:30 pm and having a nice dinner.

So now I get to get up at 2am, drive the 60 miles to Kingman in the middle of the night, no errands, no shopping, no dinner ... you have no idea how much I hate MVT!

On Monday morning he came through on his way to Vegas and their email said delivery all day Monday to 8 am Tuesday. He could have come home, but we decided that he should keep going so he'd be home by Wednesday, which was supposed to be his last day. However, they refused to unload him in Vegas as the appointment was for 8 am Tuesday and he sat in Vegas for a day.

Easter weekend he was supposed to pick up a load in Kentucky 8 am Saturday. They were closed for the weekend. Dispatch said they'd assign him another load. He sat their all weekend. Fleet manager BB told him he'd "try" to get him detention pay. Didn't happen.

They're currently offering a $2,000 sign on bonus for new drivers, but do absolutely NOTHING to retain drivers.

I could write a book about MVT screwups .... And I will update in a new thread with my communications with MVT over various pay issues.

Today I seen a MVT truck pulling a Schneider trailer. Any news on that?

Curious about this too. Hubby said he has seen quite a few MVT trucks pulling Schneider trailers.

And their own drivers seem to have trouble with m/t's.

    TruckersLilAngel Thanks this.

Probably as a power only carrier. We pull Werner trailers that way.

At least one MVT driver has a regular Schneider route.
