Thinking of attending trucking school in a few years. Will anyone still hire me?
I got caught tonight driving without insurance and expired registration. I know I’m an idiot but I just got my car fixed and was out driving it. I was honest with the officer and told him I’d just started steady work and couldn’t afford it. I got the same ticket in 2012 but I got insurance before they went to court and it got dismissed. I’m going to go get insurance in two weeks when I get paid and plead guilty. My court date is Feb 24. What penalties will I likely face? Will this knock me out of getting a good job later on? Should I even tell my boss? My court date is on my day off.
Messed up before I even got started.

Depends on where you live. Here in jersey being caught without insurance warrants a tow and a fine. You’ll get the car back when you show proof of valid registration and insurance plus storage fees which the city takes a hefty cut from the tow man. Besides that it’s not that serious. Not to get political but thankfully it’s like that because of the illegals here. Hey I ain’t complaining I got caught a couple times myself.

99% of trucking companies will hire you.
Don't get any speeding tickets, running traffic lights. speeding 15 mph or more over the speed limit and you will be ok.
Must pass a hair follicle drug test. More and more companies are using the hair follicle drug test vs. urine test.

This school is free and no contract to sign. I think you're paid $10.00 hr. during school plus meals and lodging.
This company has dry van and flatbed. Because of your weight, I'd apply for the dry van division.

Around here if you plead guilty ( just pay the fine) for driving without insurance they suspend your license. It happened to my nephew.
