Hello,
Yesterday while driving on 95 by the Philadelphia airport a metal pole crashed through my windshield (luckily no one was injured and we escaped certain death). I have absolutely no idea where the pole came from but I was it up in the air before it hit my windshield. I am mostly just curious as to where it could have originated. I was wondering if anyone could tell from these pictures if it is any recognizable part from a truck. My only other idea is that it came from a plane as we were near the airport but I don’t think that is very likely. Thank you for any help!

is it that tool for tightening flatbed belts?
-
Kinda looks like a landing gear axle from a trailer but who knows
Rideandrepair, Dsght and mhyn Thank this. -
Not really. Maybe. But only through the side wheel spoke holes made for it next to the deck. When I tighten chain I am using a 5 foot lead pipe two inches across. Known as a breaker bar vs the binder handle. Straps usually get tightened by hand. The kind we used to use anyway.

This is not any part of any TRUCK OR TRAILER I've ever seen. I haven't seen every truck or trailer made, either. I know nothing about Airplanes though.88228822, jamespmack, Bean Jr. and 4 others Thank this.

Is it aluminum ??
-
Looks like galvanized steel to me.
But I'm usually wrong, so says my wife and both our Daughters. -
Could be just extreme vandals. Or it fell off someone's vehicle, then got kicked up by a car or truck.
