I run jockey truck and i talk to there drivers almost every day,the trucks run 62 mph,no pulling power, just plain jane freightliners, alot of older beat up trailers,no toll roads, some of them are really happy and some hate it,i guess you will have this at any company, hope this helps.

They tell you they hire long haul drivers, but thats just a gimmick to getyou to sign on with them. They give you a load from home into Bloomsburg area and then they run you on 2-300 mile loads until you are ready to go home. They expect you to run these short runs over the log book. The biggest WARNING is dont get injured on the job, as they will get you home and then cut off your workmans comp.

Worked for metro,6+ years. had BUYPASS surgery in 2008. while driving for them, but in 2009was only home 2 times when requested home time,ALL YEAR in 2009, they missed 6 months of me trying to make cardoligest apppts, it put me inHospital 12 days in 2009 due to missing dr appts and they wouldnt renew my meds untill seen by the doctor. Started out ok 1st 4 years then the son took back over in 2008, hired a bunch of COLLEGE educated IDIOTS that <COOKIE CUTTER> these trucking companys, this is why they almost went BANKRUPT last time jr. took over in03-04, and national freight told them trls+tractors too old 4 them to buy.
also when i was TERMINATED, was told that dispatch couldnt get me home when I asked to be and that 10-14 days being home LATE was currently OK, after being out 14 days, so if you are looking fo a job and you are ok with being lyed to, 62 mph trucks, and RAILROADED to QUIT after MAJOR MEDICAL, this might be the place for you! GOOD LUCK

THERE trucks are governed at 62 mph, torque +hosepower turned back in 2008, if you get under 6.75 mpg over 3 months they pull you in and blow smoke up your ### about <PROGRESSIVE SHIFTING> # 1600 rpm, while loading your truck out 90% of the time short hauling you, grossing 75,000+ most of the time.
Putting in on home time then they are unable to get you home 10-14 days PAST when you need to be home as they have lost most of their bigger accounts they had when{ JOE sr.}use to run the show,
They dont care whether you get home on time or not,AND WONT TRY TO DO IT.
IM JUST TELLING PEOPLE LOOKING FOR WORK HOW I WAS TREATED AND CURRENT POLICY THE COMPANY USES, MOST OF PEOPLE I STARTED WITH ARE NO LONGER THERE BUT THEY STILL KEEP THEIR <BUDDYS>HAPPY AND HOME,, GOOD LUCK!
