Mexico threatening trade retaliation

IAccording to El Bravo the Mexican newspaper both American and Canadians were killed. I posted some comments in the last few days you guys should read. I am an American living in Mexico just accross from Brownsville TX. So I know what I am talking about!

The issue is not safety! We have drunk and drugged up drivers as well!The issues are national sovereignty and the loss of American jobs! The safety issue is a smoke screen.

I am in a real mood! American Truck drivers deserve to lose their jobs! They won't stand together and they stand for nothing! We could stop this Mexican truck deal cold if 200,000 trucks wer to block all the inbound ports until this deal was squashed for good. But the spineless jelly fish we have for truckers will not lift a finger to help themselves!

So cry and whine but until American Truck drivers stand up and do something about this threat, nothing will get done!

I don't think the truth is melodramatic! If Americans are not willing to make a stand for their country, their livlihood, or what the say they love and beleive in then they deserve to lose it! The governmaent would have a h&^% of a time with 2 or 3oo,ooo trucks and drivers! It would wake up the nation and be seen around the world!

 

300,000 U.S. trucks? Good luck with that.

Kinda overkill for 118 Mexican units, though.

 

We don't need free trade. Free trade makes us anyhing but free! It pits 1st world workers against what amounts to slave labor. The only people that gain are the industrial Titans. The rest of us are reduce to serfdom.

Think not? Trucking companies are reducing wages already! Do you think the companies will be quick in raising wages again. I don't think so!

Free trade is why we are in the mess we are in now! I don't know what it is going to take to get Americans to wake up!

 

Not wanting to argue DY but what do you want to do? build a wall around the US &then what?Our country has become so reliant on global trade we couldnt do much now,I hate the fact that we outsourced our manufacturing base but I fear we will never get it back,The maion reason freight rates are dropping is too many trucks &not enough freight so everyone is trying to undercut the other.If the economy comes back the rates will go back up.
