I just installed a 4ft Francis fiberglass whip on the new cascadia I driving. It's mounted on the pass door with a custom mount made for where that spot mirror goes above the window. My analyzer shows 1.6:1 match, 50 ohms on impedance meter and x=22. The noise from the speaker gets lower when I touch the radio. I'm wondering if some bonding is needed from door to door frame?

Yep....x=22 ain't all that good either...X needs to be 0.

May run a ground strap off the radios mounting bracket, or from one of the radios side mounting screws to a good grounding point under the dash somewhere too.

If x=zero and r=28 at a usable frequency, a shunt match can make r=50 without affecting X.

Did you fix this issue? I used a similar set up a few years ago and found grounding strap from the door to the cab to the frame solved the issue.
