I just drilled a hole in my external speaker and mounted a 1/8" stereo jack in the hole. Now I can plug in my voice recorder and make better recordings.
Just recorded my first line level recording with cheap stock microphone. Heil PR40 will sound much better.. Gotta wait til Christmas for that microphone.
Mic comparisons, recorded the right way.

It sounds like I got it dialed in pretty well this time around.
I had to search around in the hidden menu settings to find the Recording sensitivity adjustment.

You guys need to do it a bit differently.
With a stereo recorder, one channel is the input of the radio from the mic and the other is an the output of the radio.rabbiporkchop Thanks this. -

It's not too often I get to hear a microphone I built over the airwaves.
Here is an Electro Voice 602t I put together years ago. I don't bump into this guy too often anymore since I quit running Coast to coast.
Sounds really nice.
