The tire flipping idea and offset is interesting.
Some of the 2011-15 Pets that went through here came with Continentals. The 2 different stones and Michelins did better. They were not bad. A lot can change in 5 years.
I have seen the HDL2 s on the steer. They were very bad on that truck, T300? Believe they are a fuel squeezer drive tires.Banker Thanks this. -
The Firestone S591 casing and tread is a updated version of the now discontinued Bridgestone R280.DUNE-T Thanks this.

When it's lopsided out of round you ain't gonna ever true that. You end up smooth and no tread on half of it and deep grooves of tread on the other half. Thats the kind of out of round junk tire makers are putting out.Mattflat362 Thanks this.

I got goodyears on the drives and michelins on the steers for $540 each mounted, tax and all out the door on 10 tires. We'll see how this high dollar experiment goes. Only got $120 credit for my two steers and $40 credit for a couple of my Chinese drives. Could have gotten another $120 credit on the other 6 drives but gave those to a buddy in exchange for some work.
Tug Toy, daf105paccar, BoxCarKidd and 1 other person Thank this. -
Where did you find them that cheap?Tug Toy Thanks this.

I couldn't find Michelins anywhere in stock in Metro Detroit, they are on backorder. Ended up getting Continental HS3

From 2 different places. Love's in Cave City, KY sold me the steers. Goodyear Commercial Tire Service on Lebanon Pike in Nashville sold me the drives. I misspoke about my deal it was actually $550 a tire all in. The steers were a little under $1,200 and the drives were a hair over $4,300.
I remember the first set of 10 tires I bought 10 years ago. A set of Yokohamas and traded in my worn out Bridgestone casings. They gave me $100 per tire credit on those Bridgestones and my price out the door then was $3,200. Boy what a difference 10 years makes lol. I suppose if I had better casings this time than the Chinese drives I might have gotten a much sweeter deal but it is what it is.
That Love's in Cave City gave me a quote that I thought was too good to be true on all 10 tires and as it turned out that was the case. A guy there quoted me $5,100 (he told me they'd give me $60 credit for my Chinese drives which isn't reflected on the quote but was a HUGE LIE anyway) all in a couple of weeks ago. But last week some other guy working there pointed out he left off taxes and all kinds of ####. So the real price ended up being $6,500. #### liars!! I told them no way because I already had a deal lined up in Nashville at Goodyear on 8 drives but priced the steers alone with them anyways just to see and so I got what I wanted pricewise there.Last edited: Sep 22, 2020
