    hi all.

How hard is Michigan with its steer limits?

I’ve got 12220 on my steers, 27860 on my drives and 34740 on my trailer. The rear axle is as far up as it can go and I thought I might try to dump at least a couple of hundred pds into my steers.....IF Michigan is known for going with what the tires are rated for Instead of the general weight.

I’m fairly far from the shipper....so, the only other option is to take some backroads....

Anyone has experience with MI/IN scales?

Move the trailer axle group back to shift weight from trailer to tractor. Don’t worry about the steer weight. Steers are generally ignored under 12,600 or so, at least in my experience.

You've got your tandem to far foward.
Slide them back , Michigan's kingpin is 40.5 center of rear axle.
That will take the weight off your tandem. Of course you'll need to re weigh.

Yep. Big brain fart on my part. It worked.

@ 33580 after moving truck forward four holes....that’s about 290 per spot...jumped one ahead and that’ll put me at 33900....and just at the 40.5’ of The centre axle from king pin.

Hope this helps other clucks too.

    Max.
Type in MICHIGAN KINPING LAW into your browser and you'll get several results you can sift through.

I don't think any Michigan truck carrier follows that rule.
