I am running winter blend in the bridged cat right now. I am also running our winter over weight permit and winter weights in excess of 100K. My last month average was about .2 mpg off of my regular summer running were we can only run 96,000.

Because it will , that is fact.
This statement is also an over generalization.
There are bearings (not all) that are designed to work like this.
These are know as hydrodynamic/fluid bearings.
It is a principal but in practice there is still times when the oil film is sheared.
With out getting to technical all I'm saying is that there will be wear.
Even if it was possible to keep oil between the bearing parts 100% of the time there would still be wear.
I can only speak for my self.
I am really interested in this product.
I commend anyone who tries to improve anything.
The tests are focused on the improvements resulting from friction decreases.
I am also very interested in the durability of the application.
This is not being negative , it is being pragmatic.
I bet Micro Blue them self's are very interested as it is new in the application Dice is trying.

    2bit Thanks this.

I've thought alot about it but want to get some warm weather miles with the bearings before any other changes.

I had a long reply for some posters in this thread but deleted it when I remembered that I don't care . back to viewing for me. have at it keyboard warriors.

I'd like to know how they coat and polish engine bottom end bearings? If they are older type they are 3 layer with very soft top layer and even if they are modern type I still don't understand it. They are meant to wear out to protect crankshaft and that ponding method might not work with soft babbit layer.

No, tell me is it worth to spend 20000 dollars to polished bearings? I use about 4000 liters a month, 44 000 a year, will I save 15 000 liters of fuel in 4 years with polished bearings? That means zero benefit, I need to save more to make it profitable.

    Did you say $20,000?
    Or you meant $2,000?
