Dude, 18 minutes? I reheat even frozen meals in about 3 minutes with the Walmart 700w microwave on full power.

It’ll do that, for sure. What folks never think about with microwaves, is re-heating things TOO fast. That’s what gives funky flavors. You can slow that thing down and heat some really nice meals. Gentle heat, not brute force.

Now that we have that problem solved, does anyone make coffee in the truck? I've seen those portable K-cup brewers but are there other options?

    Thanks in advance.

I just used the cheap $20 Walmart brand. Just use the descale solution once a month. I hardly ever did and in about 6-8 months had to buy another. But for how cheap it is I said f it.

This is the way. Leave a high dollar keurig in the truck, and let the temperature drop. You don’t repeat that. lol.

Yes, I made my own coffee almost daily, when I wasn't parked at a Loves or Pilot. I used an electric kettle for a while which QUICKLY heats water to boiling for 2 different coffee methods I used. The first was a Presto MyJo. This can make coffee using the K-cup/Keurig doodads. The 2nd method I used with my electric kettel was a pour over cup . Eventually I got tired of both and used a walmart 5 cup automatic drip coffee maker.

I quickly discovered the Keurig k-cup machines were more trouble than they were worth. Since it usually uses a sealed k-cup of pre-loaded coffee, it only make coffee to my satisfaction when making only 6 ounces of coffee. You can make 8, 10, 12 oz of coffee but that just waters down the coffee with more water, so you get brown water or weak weak coffee. Yes, you can buy the resuable k-cup and use your own coffee, but that's an extra $10 and you need to clean that cup. Since my standard driving coffee cup is 18 ounces, I found I was making 3 k-cups, which are expensive for the amount of coffee in a sealed k-cup or 3 cleanings of the reusable k-cup device. That's what caused me to switch to the 5-cup automatic drip coffee maker. It delivered the strength of coffee I liked, the amount of coffee in one process, and the cleanup could not be easier, compared to the reusable k-cup and Keurig machine.

The descale stuff is just white vinegar. White vinegar is much cheaper than the descale solution. White vinegar is in the baking section of most grocery stores. But yeah, descaling the coffee maker is important.

    OMG Keurigs?

    Make coffee the trucker's way!

go into the truck stop and get the swill that has been sitting in the pot for 6 hours

    OR

build a good fire on the catwalk, get the pot full of water, dump coffee in the bottom, and stick it on the fire.

I had a microwave with a toaster over and air fryer built in. It was great.
