Call their 800 number on their web-site, ask for John in driver qualification. He will explain your options if you want to drive for MCT.

I'm inclined to look for another company now. I think the poster who said they like MCT but not Wood may be accurate.
I have had to get things cleared up with MCT because of things not being explained very well in orientation. But time and again MCT actually comes back positive and cooperative as long as you are also positive. I sometimes wish I could just work directly for them and not the fleet I'd probably be happy with them.
My problems really seem to come from the fleet owner Woods. They're starting to use the qualcomm to micromanage me and I wish they'd stop it. I have 1 dispatcher already in W. Chicago. Now in addition to that I have calls and messages coming from Wood bugging me.
I thought it might be beneficial to be in a small fleet backed up by a big company but I think now I'm really working for 2 companies that adds to confusion and contradictory attitudes. -
It just gets stranger. Wood retired my old truck and I turned it in a week ago. Checked Monday morning and still no new truck.

If you go on there website, it has a list of the owners who are in your area, or who hire in your area. might have a problem finding one who will take the cats. I got lucky, I have an owner who let me have my pets. Good Luck

you need to call Eileen, tell her what is going on with woods, tell her you want a new owner to work for or you are leaving the company. she is real easy to talk to, I was thinking of switching owners, but we got our problem worked out. just give her a chance b4 you give up.

Oops I missed your reply. Anyway by the 2nd week I had given up and I had already been looking to leave Woods before this happened anyway.
Wendell didn't seem like a bad guy but I was on Cora's bad side. I think the final straw was going to slow when the crazy Chicago Cyclone came down. Now I literally had days on the schedule available to deliver. No way I was running late. But she just likes to hustle people to drop early. This does make sense but in nutty windy weather I didn't think it was that important to rush into Chicago but when the sun came out she's like what the hell am I waiting for?
Despite sunny skies the weather reports I read still suggested strong Chicago winds. But..... that during night time the weather system would weaken without sunlight, so I had planned to nap in the evening and night drive but that wasn't good enough. As it was it was indeed sunny also the next day but still very windy and in fact one of our trucks still blew over in Iowa. This was the kind of crap I was trying to avoid.
When I first started this job between the Fleet Owner and MCT I think I had a rocky start with misunderstandings when I first began. I mostly had to sit there and watch safety videos but didn't get much info on day-today procedure.
However I had some good discussions about it with my dispatcher and safety and they were helpful. So I want to say here I can't complain about MCT. Some companies say they have an open door policy and MCT really does. They come off very strongly as wanting to run legit and no messing around on the log.
I want to be clear so people aren't turned off MCT. All my problems seem to stem from the fleet owner. Basically Woods always acting like a second dispatcher nagging me and reminding me who signs my checks. As if suggesting what they say overrides MCT. -
Do you think maybe it has something to do with you? -
I didn't deal with Wendell very much directly. The main impression I got was he was laid back and periodically going between the office and the garage and I think he even drove some trailers around himself.
I've never had an argument with Wendell personally while there. All the problems seem to be between myself and Cora.
I should clarify the person who reminded me who signs my checks was Cora. Wendell has never talked to me like that. -

Cora sort of reminds me of the RV Guy if you've ever seen that on YouTube.
There should be a way to setup a Cora Cam of her in the office. I bet it could go viral on YouTube.
I just see unrealized potential that no one at Woods has ever considered or imagined.
