Not necessarily. We're talking about city traffic here. In cities, there is usually an exit every mile. Every two if we're super lucky.

I'm not going to be weaving in and out of the middle lane or backing off my accelerator every mile to accommodate those looking to merge when I can simply stay out of the way and maintain my rate of speed.

Courtesy to those looking to enter the freeway trumps the speed demons trying to save 5 seconds on their trip, imho.

If im in a slow trk but just a tad bit faster then the trk or car ahead of me,im going to just stay behind that vehicle because it'll take forever to pass him which would cause all the vehicles behind me to slow up till I can get back over.

I have seen more Prime trks passing and we all know how slow they are making the vehicles behind them unhappy campers. They've been in the passing lane a good 15 minutes or longer trying to pass someone. Then once Prime passes they still stay in the hammer lane. But its not just Prime either.

What about when the right lane is so full of potholes, the state should shut it down if they refuse to keep it maintained, you think I should abuse my equipment and my body and hit those holes and bumps?

If it was a perfect world, yeh the right lane is relaxing but in the real world of inept, corrupt government the right lane is worse than driving in a cornfield. Pass however you can, it's a free for all. And "limit" means just that, not the exact, prescribed speed you must do.

I don't see many interstates with potholes all over the place. That would be different in that case to stay in the hammer lane but just passing in a 60 mph trk someone doing 59 is not proper passing ediquette unless you don't see anyone behind you then you may be able to pass and get back over without making other vehicles wait and wait for you to get back over.If you don't have the patience because of someone a slight bit slower then you like the vehicles don't have the patience being in the hammer lane waiting for the slow trks then take the next exit and get back on the interstate. At least you wont be behind that one vehicle .

Let's put perspective on it. NJ state law is you stay to the right except to pass. On 3 lanes, anything over 10,000 lbs can't go into the left lane except for an exit or turn, or specific emergencies.. You see these signs coming into the state, yet nobody wants to listen. It doesn't matter if you're in a car or a truck, driving through NJ, you stay to the right unless you're actually PASSING something. You're not exempt from the traffic laws because you're in a big truck. Here, if there's potholes in the right lane, you deal with them or take a different road. OR, just keep pace with traffic. What's worse, you having to be in the right lane instead of middle, or trucks who can actually keep with the flow of traffic having to change lanes to their blind side to get around you?

Seriously, what is so difficult about just being out of the way? You're still going 55 whether you're in the right or middle lane, except one is making it easier for people to get around you.

And no, I didn't mean in cities. In heavy entering and exiting traffic, stay in the middle. But when there's no exits, traffic is moving at a good pace, the road is somewhat clear... Why do you have to be in that lane? Why can't you just get out of the way so that everyone else can pass?

Why does it have to all be about making it easier for you...not you personally , but you seem to think that the middle lane is just for those who have trucks that aren't governed s hit happens learn to deal with it...grow-up some learn some patience and just what it means to be a professional driver...Oh...I forgot ..you're the poster that thinks truck driving isn't "that" hard....It just gets really old for rookies that have no clue about what's safe , courteous , or what the word patient means...this Me , Me , me crap ...just gets old...rock-star...if you can't stand the heat get away from the fire. It ain't all about getting out of your way...... ...
