Trucks are not allowed in the left lane in lots of places outside of cities. In the northeast, it's common for them to not be allowed in the left lane anywhere that there's 3 or more lanes.

Eh, wouldn't know. I avoid the northeast religiously.

Stop being a speed demon and you wouldn't have to worry about all those annoying law abiding drivers.

Once again, going 65 in a 65, instead of 55 is NOT speeding! Not everyone wants to go 10 mph less, just because that's the fastest you can go. 65 in a 65+ is a safe and reasonable speed

LOL--you act like thats the ONLY bad stretch of interstate(just playing)and quite honestly--Im sure your codriver--is a whole lot happier tryin to sleep thru there--and at least it MY case and most other real pro drivers minds--there is No reason for you to step right thru there--those of us that pay attention--and sees a freight hauler w/a sleeper cab-(and frankly any other truck in the hammer for those kind of stretches)-knows EXACTLY why y'all are out there--and just gently slide by on the right and ease back over in front of y'all
    Just sayin:biggrin_25525:

I agree with everything Stiles is saying (funny too!). Although it hasn't been clear the interpretation between city and rural highways riding the middle lane in the OP, I don't see why you are ranting, raving or even going on about such an argument with temper when someone with so little experience almost without a doubt is driving a truck that doesn't even do 65. Prime (not directed toward you drivers so no pun intended) are the only ones to mostly complain about for doing 55 all the time. If your in that big of a hurry and it bothers you so much that someone being in the middle lane doing the speed limit or very close to it is in your way then you should either leave earlier or simply leave the profession to someone who has a cool head on their shoulders. Outside of cities in most cases the left lane is off limits due to mountain grades.

Realize it or not but those guys who drive slower still arrive at the same stop light etc right around the same time as the one who was rushing, burning up fuel and getting slowed down by other traffic. The only thing I can say bad about rolling at slower speed limit while on the interstate is the severe case of boredom. So again with someone driving a truck that is governed somewhere between 60-63, I don't get what your getting all up tight about other than proving to everyone that your an unsafe driver by the words you speak.

If I ever pass a truck on the right then I always tell them on the radio that I'm going to scoot by on that side and 8 times out of 10 I get "that's fine, no problem, fine by me, do what ya gotta do." I just do so, so they aren't caught off guard by my doing so. Plus being respectful and courteous to the fact. It's not recommended to pass on the right but there is no law stating its illegal.

Your tripping over your own feet a bit here. 55 in a 65, unsafe? Sure. Can you say the same for 65 in an 80? (even though 80 is rare)

    I never said 55 in a 65 is unsafe. All I said is 65 in a 65 isn't unsafe. Just give up.

But almost all of your posts belay that statement....you seem to get completely torn out of the frame by a driver that isn't getting out of your way....albeit "unsafe"...It would seem the only UN-safe maneuver here would be if any of us wound up with you behind us...I'm betting that when a driver doesn't immediately "get outta your way" you're sitting 5 feet off his bumper...just to "let him know your pissed " right....You say you're a safe driver..and that driving a truck isn't dangerous....all that does is prove that your inexperience is way over-shadowed by your arrogance...I hope , I really do , that you come around..before you either hurt yourself , or somebody else.

This is one of the biggest problems that the public see's today...drivers that "think" they own the road....this attitude when taken , even by a driver with experience only puts us all in a bad light...rock-star , you drive the way you see fit...nobody here is your judge , but it would greatly benefit you to take a step back , and at least entertain the notion that some of these guys ( including myself ) want to see you do well , be safe and have a long and prosperous career. Most of us have a couple or 3 million miles behind us and , all we want do is pass on our knowledge....that is the very reason I stressed being patient at the beginning of the thread , and a couple more times. I know very well how aggravating and stressful folks riding in the middle lane used to make me....I ran fast-food ( McDonald's ) deliveries for over 30 years before retiring. Those schedules are so tight that it's almost impossible to meet them , but you learn that you do all you can , but you never let the stress of a tight schedule get you to make stupid , and UN-safe decisions while under the wheel....way too much depends on a drivers ability to remain calm , attentive , and ready to be proactive , in any given traffic situation. By your own posts , it seems that you haven't learned that quite yet , but one thing is for certain..if you don't loose the I , me attitude , and think that the whole world revolves around you getting to your delivery destination , and everybody is in your way....you're gonna be involved in an accident.... A BAD ONE.....

I love all these opinions on hogging up the center lane.
If you wanna play police, then go sign on,and do it.
The self righteous driving is played out.
You know your getting passed up by 4 wheelers, and
    jamming up trucks.
If you look in your mirror, and theres a mile of traffic,
    behind you,
and look out your front window, and its open road, then
    YOUR the problem.
Its always the same old Pillow biting mindset..
Your in the hammer lane, somebody is trying to hammer.
Put the pillow in your mouth, and get to the right, bite down hard.
Drive your truck, and rub your Barney Fife alter:biggrin_25520:
