    Making or buying popcorn is something you do when you are getting ready to watch a movie. It's something people on Internet forums say when certain topics come up because they think the comments will be "entertaining".

    Ah, the middle lane...the cherished place of Braindeads. A place where the Braindeads can just relax, and put bare minimum effort into driving. Look at the different varieties of Braindeads you see camped out there:

    Ma and Pa Clampett, in their motor home going 40 mph.

    Farmer Jackson, driving an ancient pickup with no working lights and a homemade trailer pulling a load of watermelon.

    Suzy Homemaker, soccer mom extraordinaire. Can she ever multitask! 3 rug rats, texting and applying eyeliner at the same time. The middle lane us a safe haven for her to get things done when she gas to drive, but too busy to drive defensive.

    Stan the Steeringwheelholder, 'twainer' for Two Fools in a Twuck. Has a new student, and so he's teaching his student that in order to avoid falling off the earth, you stay in the middle. "That driver that swung his twailer at us and brake checked us is extwemely unprofessional. He had no reason at all to do that. I'm gonna call his company and complain. Guess we will be eating in the twuck again."

    Redeye Rick, town drunk. Whether your brain is fried or you were born without the brain, it doesn't matter...they all ride in the middle lane. Hey drunks need to travel too!

    And we wonder why new drivers don't care to get a CB radio in the trucks... {shrug}

    Guess my dad was the "brain dead steering wheel holder" of his generation (1970's) since he explained to me that traveling in the middle lane was safer for all as it allows cars and others to easily enter and exit the in first lane while allowing you to continue the flow of driving without having to constantly be changing lanes and/or speeds for the local traffic that is coming and going...

    But now that was before many trucks were governed at low speeds which might be adding complications to this issue. And back when more people used the CB to communicate with each other vs moaning and groaning about other drivers or the state of training today.

    Stay Safe, no matter which lane you travel,

    I heard parts of a conversation between 2 drivers just yesterday. Seems a driver on the interstate and observed a merging truck and called out that he was stuck and could not move over. Then the merging truck got all bent out of shape and berated the trucker who would not move over for being there I guess

    There's really nothing wrong with being in the middle lane if no other trucks want to pass. The big problem is most drivers refuse to watch their mirrors and move over to let other trucks pass.

    I don't care if I'm going the limit or even a little over, if I'm not already in the right lane (where I normally drive) I'll get over before they have to.

    Very rarely do I deviate from this. However, one example is the last WB toll on I94 in Illinois, just before Wisconsin. The EZ Pass lanes are only 3 wide. I get in the 3rd from center a mile or two before.

    I can't control other drivers. Besides, it's none of my business how fast they want to drive.
