    Nothing like 20-30 mph over a 200 mile stretch. One could be exceedingly safe in these conditions, but the only other reason I see people slipping and sliding is due to boredom. X-amount of hours keeping the pedal at that safe speed and the irritation is steadily creeping into your brain.
