Now I can't say I've made a million bucks working at prime, but I've certainly made a good chunk of change working here, and made a dent in my debts, and have gotten out of the poor house since I've been here, if you don't or haven't worked for prime, then you need to get out of this thread, prime afforded me the oppurtunity to get my cdl, and got me to springfield, all I had to my name when I started with them was 100 dollars to my name, enough to cover my fees, now I have a CDL and the expeierence to get my foot in the door where I can make a decent living, and a job skill I can always fall back on, I'm not the best driver out there, I still have a lot to learn, but prime has given me the basics to start a career for next to nothing, so quit bashing
Might be coming back to Prime....

What recruiting bonus? Just because you had a problem doesn't mean everyone else does...
-
Uhh, skippy?
IN case you forgot, just like not all companies are the same (thank the lord), so too not all drivers are the same. In other words..... we don't all fit in every company. Some will fit well at Prime, and some won't. -
True that.
-
You guys are aware that you don't have to lease from prime, right? It's not mandatory...You can be a company driver and not have to pay for your truck. Hopefully that doesn't fly over anyone's head.
-
When I went thru orientation all they really mentioned about leasing was its option and that most new people should go company for awhile before considering it.
-
You're aware that leasing is a business venture, and with the proper personal preparation it can be quite lucrative? Paying for the truck is an expense to support the generation of freight revenue.
That being said, most folks who stay on the company side will never hear the word "lease," and if they do it will be from someone contemplating a career cleaning bathrooms at the PEElot. -
I understand all that , that was directed at the folks who seem to think you don't make any money on the company side or that you're forced info leasing or whatever. I probably could have worded that better, though.
Oh, and like that other guy said, they haven't said much about leasing in orientation, other than that a new driver probably should not go that route right away. -
Absolutely! Take a year or two at least, and figure out the ropes.
