As long as you get the load to the receiver on time, safely and legally, (and mostly on their routing, if company) they don't care how you do it.

I've pulled over to take a nap several times. No one said a word.

Between 3 & 6 AM I can do with a nap. So I'll wake myself up, and take a nap! :biggrin_25518:

Seriously, it's a violation of the 1986 Surface Transportation Assistance Act to coerce a driver into driving past his or her limits. Getting your sleep habits adjusted to what's necessary to be a safe & successful driver is a big deal. Taking advantage of delays at shippers & receivers, using the split sleeper berth rule to catch a nap followed by some light aerobics to get your metabolism up is always a good idea. So is that nap after 3 AM if you're driving at night - and the aerobics.

But there are limits. Being at your appointments on time is a requirement. It's bad for you - your driver rating goes down if you're late. The quality of the freight you (and your board) has access to goes down as well. We sell a transportation service... and what we sell is "on time."

I have to crank it for awhile first. Then it takes forever to dial in a message... depending on how fast the operator gal is!

That explains the walk. I thought that was just an old rock ball injury... (they hadn't invented rubber yet)

What's going on fellas. I am new to this forum and to the whole trucking world at that. I have been doing maintenance for the last 11 years and I am going to be changing careers to be an OTR. I am starting Prime's training on Tuesday. I was just curious as to what the permit test covers and what I should be studding the most to prepare for it. Also any other helpful hints you all could give me to make my training a little less stressful would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Easy-peasy! The MO CDL manual... its online. The general stuff, air brakes, combination vehicles, pretrip usually covers it. Tank and hazmat are something you will want to add when you transfer your license back to your home state.
You ever wonder why they call a football a "rock?" LOL!

Theres several threads on here, including mine, that document the training program from a personal angle. The MO CDL manual, and practice tests are invaluable. Once here youll only have part of 2 days to study for the tests. Study all you can now.

That explains it lol Had to run fast to keep from getting trampled by a T-Rex lol

Thanks guys. I appreciate it. I'm from Missouri, so I wont need to transfer my license. Also how many questions are on the tests?
