I work as a dispatch and I hear this from my drivers all the time.
Here's the thing PC Miller (most likey) is set up as a server Called the the mileage server. When they put in say a ticket or bill
say bill to ABC Company
Pick up Running horse 1234 fake st Bob, OH 02589
Deliver Slow Horse 4321 Screwed ave Bedman, PA 01895
the mileage server doesn't look at the address it see's city, state and zip then pulls the mileage from there, most likely they use ZIP code to ZIP code like we do here.
LOOK!
Trip Summary:
PC MILLER (I input the Address's)
9209 64th ST Riverside, CA 92509
TO
3500 Palm ST Bakersfield, CA 93309
159.4 Miles
FROM THE SERVER (I let PC Miller Server Run on its own)
92509 Riverside, CA
TO
93309 Bakersfield, CA
164.4 Miles
Now see in this case you Win you get more Miles then you drive, but thats not always the case. This is how PC Miller works, I made a Ticket just to show you this info.

Here's the mileage the way I would run the load, 156.2 2 hrs 30 min est.
I have never had a problem with beating the dispatch mileage on the loads, I like to run the shortest route practical. But I do get the point. -
It's time for drivers to deman door to door pay not settle for pennies on the dollar and come settlement don't take the excuse of well the computer messed up DOT sets forth rules to make cash well what goes around comes around.

Just thinking at the end of the year write the unpaied miles off IE a tax write off an let the trucking Co. Explained it to the irs why the write off. Keep in mind trucking Co's only may go back a month in E-Logs so a hard copy will be a must on proof of worked miles.
