I made it hard for my dispatcher to forget the hours I had available, when I would be empty...he could never say I didn't communicate. -
Deleted double post

The longer I work for Millis, the more miles I get. Haven't waited longer than 10 minutes for the next load in longer than I can remember. Sometimes I will get to choose my trip.
Look. There is nothing personal about this business. Its pretty much black and white. The company makes money by moving freight.
Each dispatcher has 3 groups of drivers.
The top performers
The average drivers
The ones he wishes would quit.
Its our job to be in the group we want to be in.
This is not just Millis. This is the trucking industry.
If you are not happy, you really need to check yourself.sapamil Thanks this. -
Whats fuuny is all of the guys here talking about dispatchers??!!!?!?!?! At millis the customer service plans the load board. All the dispatcher does is give u the load!!!!!! Thats it. So anyone else saying anything else does not know jack ####. My old dispatcher even called my last student I trained to make sure I knew my miles were low because of customer service not him. So yes they can and do watch your pay along with your miles, not a very hard thing to do!!!!!! And again I see some on here speaking about 3800 mile weeks, you guys are the few and far between. And are the only ones getting those kind of miles.

I been reading some of the post on here and just want to add my 2 cents. I've been with Millis for 2 1/2 yrs now an for the most part I can say I'm happy. Yes there are times you sit an wait for your next load but over all I average on a low week 2500 miles an a good week 2800 to 3200 miles. Now keep in mind I run OTR and stay out 3 to 4 weeks at a time. Trucking is not a 8 to 5 job and you go home. I had one of those jobs and making good money and quit. You get what you put into it. If you want to run Millis will run you. if you want to take your time delivering a load and don't want to be aggressive and deliver early if you can or drop at a terminal then you're not going to get the miles. you get out of it what you put into it. perfect example is a load I picked up today in Cherokee, Alabama that didn't deliver till Tuesday morning in Richmond Virginia I asked if I could deliver Monday morning I was told no so I asked can I drop in Cartersville and get another load to keep me rollin and they replied yes and now I have a load I'm delivering tomorrow from Atlanta to Trenton, Ohio and then I'll get my next load that I'll deliver Monday or Tuesday but I'm ahead of the game because I'm aggressive. Just remember the grass isn't always greener on the other side...

I agree with this. At millis you have to.fight for every mile!! And it gets very old day and night fighting/ begging for work to make money. If they have so much freight and your doing your job, why do you have to fight/ beg for loads??? I like to drive for my money not fight / beg. Everyone can read all these posts and make up their own mind. Good luck students/drivers.

I've never begged for anything. Never asked for a load, I barely speak to my dispatcher. Glad I don't have the issues some are having that sucks. Hope it gets better for you guys.
