Sometimes the miles work in your favor. Very rarely but it happens. I just did a DH of 550 miles. The company must have thought I was going to be forced to take I20 though and paid me for over 650 miles.

The only company I worked for that was accurate with the load mileage calculation was Schneider, their NaviGo seemed to be incredibly accurate. All other companies were paying out less miles than the actual point A to Point B distance, the worst of them being K & B Transportation, other than that them using zip code to zip code calculation with less miles, they also had the habit to send me off the route to places where fuel was cheaper (like going from St. Joseph MO south to Oklahoma City OK to use I-49 so that I get gas in Missouri/Joplin and such where the fuel is cheaper and not the shorter Kansas routes). It seems natural for companies to pay drivers less than what the actual mileage is.
