If you really want a fair way to track and compare companies do this.

    1. Calculate the number of days you worked in a quarter minimum (13 weeks, 91 days)
    2. Subtract days off from that number. A day off is 24 hours logged off duty. A 34 hour reset is only 1 day off.
    3. Divide your gross pay off your paycheck summary by the number of days you worked.
    4. That gives you Gross pay per day worked.

You can accurately compare all companies this way regardless of whether they pay hourly, percentage, mileage and any combinations of bonuses etc.

This is for company drivers. Lease operators and O/Os better have a handle on expenses and the formula is a lot more complicated.

I work the 14/7 plan at Roehl. I launch out on tuesdays. Tomorrow I will drop a load at my home terminal with 3440 dispatched miles. Hub miles 3450. I will be able to take my 34 reset at my home, and roll again tuesday night. I did similiar last trip with 6400 miles in 14 days, but took my 34 hr break on the road. Miles are there at Roehl, just have to prove to them you can do the miles safely and on time.
