This last week is the most miles I've driven in my life... Twas easy when you have PPlans before you deliver current load. Next week will prob have less than 1/3 miles of this week, hometime.

That's the key right there ... Start pushing your DM for your next load when you are a day out

Fred isn't complaining, since he changed trucks, he's been getting 2400 - 2800 every week and this is what he's been doing too, except he doesn't speak to his DM anymore at all. If he can't handle it over the QC, he will call the terminal and talk to whoever answers the phone, and when he has questions about payroll, he's calls payroll. He seems much happier this way and I'll bet his DM is too.

It's what you're used to ... for me this job is easy ... by law I can only work 70 hrs in 8 days and get 10 undisturbed hrs off every day.

I used to put 60+ hours in the office M-F, and then was on call 7x24x365 and I got at least 3 calls every night, spent 10 hours on a conference call one Chirstmas.

is that a challenge? i sure would like to see you with over size, or perhaps a 4 axle truck and a 13 axle trailer and an 18spd :biggrin_25523:.

or sheet i'll make it easy how about i just put your stacks where they belong on the SIDE of the tractor and see how you go about backing in a spot with a regular van/reefer (you pick axle placement)

how about navigateing with 7 feet of hood and a 35' blind spot.

Theres more to trucking then just holding the wheel, with the cruise on.

I just finished my 26th week since I got my license and I ran 102,000 usually working Monday to Friday(1 or 2 sat./mth) pulling a 53' spread axle step. When my dispatch asks if I will do a run my only answer has been "sure". My stacks are where they should be,I've got some hood out the front, I've got 18 to choose from and I know how to do multiple pull ups!. LOL!! Probably 30% is OD work and many times I have had over 25 straps to hold my load together. I'm just saying that as the flat deck guys know the time this takes- especially if you have 3 or 4 stops and have to resecure the remaining load.
I only pulled a dry van for one week and I was amazed at how easy it was to back up but I dam near sheet myself when it came to the crosswinds. That was scarey for me.

BTW- thats 102,000 km so 63,000 miles. I should be on track for over 100,000 miles when I factor in a month off this summer.
