For the average driver, roughly 2 years. It depends on the lanes you run, how hard you run, length of time you're out, dispatch, etc..MACK E-6, Rideandrepair, slow.rider and 3 others Thank this.

I find driving 120,000 miles a year is average, that's 10,000 miles a month at 2,500 miles a week.

What they said. My company will put miles on you with a quickness. They put me in a brand new truck in May 2020. By May 2021, I was just shy of 150k.
Speed_Drums and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
It does depend on the milage you get. Running reefer, as I do, I end up with mostly live loads and unloads. So, I lose alot of potential miles because I'm sitting in a dock. I don't mind it, some do. I've been solo since November 1, 2019 and I've got about 170,000. That's probably alittle low compared to most.

Depends on hiw you operate... I can get 200k in 15 months if I want too... But I don't want to. I shoot for about 150k every year. Usually actually get about 145k. But getting thise kind of miles can be difficult with moat companies. IIRC the average OTR driver gets about 100-120k per year.bryan21384 Thanks this.

170k in about 20 months? That seems pretty low to me. What lanes do you run? How many miles do you average per week?
-
I don't run any specific lanes. I do tend to stay in the West most of the time. My priorities and needs are a bit different than most truckers. I'm semi-retired with some money coming in every month. So, I don't have to get lots of miles. I kinda like the adventure of it all and the beautiful scenery I get to traipse through. I'm pretty easy going and don't mind doing the short little runs than don't necessarily make much money, but needs to be done. Or, sitting in a dock for 10 hours getting unloaded at places that tend to be slow and other drivers want to avoid. So, I don't think they run me like most drivers. I'm happy with running 2500 or more miles a week, or 500 miles for a week. If I'm somewhere I like, I may take a couple days off and stay at a hotel. So, yeah, my mileage is probably alittle low compared to many. I'm fine with it and they're fine with me.Accidental Trucker, Cattleman84, Truckermania and 1 other person Thank this.

It depends on what kind of trucking you do. As a local driver I log about 65-70K a year.snowlauncher, Solo Soul and Roger McG Thank this.
