What I mainly want to say first, foremost and above all else is a sincere, heartfelt thank you all for your service!!!!!!!!

I was recon but mostly a water jock and amphib. You guys on the way on my six was kept me and my squad pushin' on. If we got nested up we knew logistics was behind and OTW, and that was a good feeling. The Hollywood calling in precision air strikes was just that. Hollywood. No offense to the Air Dogs. It was a different era and terrain. Nobody seems to give Logos props for knowing how to nut up and being ready, willing, able, capable and very effective at unleashing the h&ll they carried for their comrades in arms. Nobody seems to tout Logos as bad@sses but my experience with them in some very, VERY challenging situations; I found them all to be Bravo Zulu OUT ##### STANDING warriors and true to all the ethics of Comrades In Arms - regardless of branch, rank or gender.

Thanks Guys and I guess Gals now too. Women weren't allowed in combat units back then. Been my experience that women can be as bad@ss and effective as we can and many times even more so. LOL. So, God Bless them too. All y'all, in all branches. Thanks and I hope it works out.

To the OP's OP; You got enough advice. Don't need mine other than to say, sling enough mud and some of it is gonna stick where you want it to. Go with that spot as a starting point, work your way out from there, and again; Thanks for your service. You earned a ton more than you will be repaid but know the common Joe really does appreciate what you did.

Thanks for the kind words! I spent 5 years in the Marines so I know about hitting the beach with a full load..Matter of fact I think that was my motivation to become a truck driver in the military. I would be humping 100lbs on my back and see these guys drive by waving and smiling. GRRRR hahaha. Anyway. right back at you. Thank you for your service and paving the way!

Thanks and Semper FI! I was Doc. I'll leave the balance for another time. It's a long story, but one with a relatively happy ending; lost some d@mn&d fine Marines but we all came home. No Marine left behind. Interesting if nothing else. I'm particularly proud of that. That was MY charge. NOBODY get's left behind. I'll put my life for yours to keep you alive but if that doesn't happen . . . I WILL TAKE YOU HOME REGARDLESS. NOBODY LEFT BEHIND!

Nobody was either. Not in MY squad. Not MY Marines! Strange times, strange places, strange unit, strange orders . . . Strange world the '80's. Especially in Central America. We're doing well now, though. The one's of us not under Arlington grass are all OK. I said we all came home. Not all of us walked. Some we carried to Johns Hopkins, some we carried to Arlington. We all came home, though. H&!! of it was (back then, doesn't matter anymore) nobody noticed except the Corps and family. Crazy '80's. It's all good now, though. Made a boy into a man and the man into a survivor. Sure can't complain too much about that. It's come in real handy.

Thanks and be safe and stay true.
