i live in cleveland, ohio and its snowed all the way into may be4. as far as facing snow outta the gate i would prefer it, just for the simple fact u have a trainer in your truck that could walk u through those conditions. that's just my opinion

I got mine off of ebay for $70. It is a Midland 40 channel with weather. It also came with a better mic and an echo board installed. Its like a 75-W model or something like that.

I have had pretty good luck with ebay myself.

Well, if I put in an application in mid-January to get in a class for mid-February then I probably will get to experience some snow and ice. I don't really mind but I would be nervous as heck.

Perfectly understandable, if you do it with a trainer now you'll be better off next year when your in your own truck. Again just saying that would be my personal preference. But good luck with the app. Millis is a good choice.

Absolutely! Any wheel time in those weather conditions is a plus! I think first rule of thumb would be to slow down, increase following distance! That goes for any vehicle actually.

The plus would be knowing that by the next winter season you'll have so much more experience and knowledge.

I agree definitely. Yeah, I don't feel I can go wrong with Millis. Most people on here seem to be happy with them. I am getting impatient about filling out an app. I am ready to get going!
