Millis chat room

I don't know about him, but I heard the female from that class was let go by Mike Millis. Don't know the details about why.

 

If he is still around he should be nearing finishing training if he is not done yet. I was just curious.

Wonder what happened to the female you mentioned? That would be good information (things not to do or things to make sure you are prepared for, etc.) for prospective drivers. Not to be nosy or anything.

 

I have been accepted by Millis and will be going to the class on March 5th in GA. I have a few questions that some of you with experience may be able to answer. I will be coming from Mass and I was told that I can drive my car and that there is a secure place to leave it in the yard. I would rather take my car than a bus but is this bad idea? Also assuming that I make it through the school part and get to the driver training part; do you go home before you head out with your driver trainer? Any info is greatly appreciated. I just passed and got my cdl permit today and I will be working on getting my other stuff like my DOT card etc. It is a big change for me at a rather late age, I’m 54 years old but I feel like a kid again. Also, Thanks for your posts and info. I have gotten a lot of good info on this site! JT.

 

Are you driving to training? If so you can use your vehicle to go to/ from the hotel. Otherwise you could put it in the lot with the regional/dedicated guys.

After the 3 week course you have the option of taking up to a week off or leaving straight out with a trainer. They will also route you by your house after you get your own truck to pick up your other stuff since there's not much room on the trainers truck.

They have a March class already filling up? I better get my application in. That was about the time I was wanting to start if I get accepted.

How long did it take for you to hear back from them when you filled out your application?

 

I heard back the next day, but it was for more info( the 3 past years of employment and if any unemployment dates) then a few days after that Alice called with my approval for school & MY choice of class dates.
So I call back Alice with my choice for starting class and am told she needs me to fax w2 from the past 3 years because they were unable to contact my past employer.
So make sure your app. is complete the first time.

 

I have been with my current employer six and a half years. Prior to that I was self-employed for five years. Will they want tax returns for that? Or do they even go back that far in your work history?
