Excellent advice LB. I think the 2x4 is a good idea. My question is wouldnt it be better to lay them on the ground and drive on them to lift the landing gear? Or would that not work because of suspension? I have been running into this trailer problem alot.

They work better on the frame or the fifth wheel because the tires will try to flex around the shape of the 2x4. And you would have to have enough to put under all 4 tires. Frame or 5th wheel is rigid, plus if you need more than than the width of 1 2x4, you can always dump it again, then stack 2 under the trailer.

Maybe I'll take some pics this weekend when I grab some 2x4s so you can see what I'm talking about.

I carry two in my side box........someone else taught this to me a while ago and have used it many times to lift a trailer to break the landing gear free.

    The 2 x 4s are a great tip L. B.

I sometimes haul kitty litter and beer with the the landing gear cranked to the heavens. Always seems to be on the oldest, hardest to cranks trailers.

The 2 x 4s would take all the extra work out of that and save ya time and aggravation......thanks

yeah, after the cats get drunk they tend to pee all over the place and the litter helps contain it...hahahha, jk

I don't haul them together, just some of the types of loads we haul
